How much does a bag like this cost to make? And how much do you charge for yours?

It costs a lot of blood sweat and tears. But I sell them starting at $475. ;-)

Thanks!

I love your work!

May I be so bold as to ask what kind/weight of leather you used on this?

Plus specifically what tools you used?

I'm really interested in starting to work with leather but am not sure of the cost of tools and leather required.

I live in New Zealand and the only site we have on this topic is:

If you have a bit of free time maybe you could take a look and tell me what I need to make a bag like this?

thanks for your time!

Cool man, glad you like the bags and stuff.

I think on that bag I used a 6/7 ounce weight vegetable tan leather. It's fairly heavy and I started to use a 5/6 ounce now just so the bags are a little softer. The heavy weight makes for a nice "case like" sturdy feel though.

To make the bag I didn't use that many tools. A utility knife, hole punch for sewing, stitch groover, artificial sinew for thread, and a couple of saddle stitch needles.

I suggest getting a free membership to this forum:

Can you put up the pattern? I am inspired.

Sorry I don't have a pattern for this. I just have an idea of the size in my head and cut out the pieces from there. I do just jot down the sizes though so I don't get confused. This bag measures 15"x11"x4.5".

Glad you like it too!
